Back to business.
As I already mentioned, so much has happened. Wow.
Firstly, it seems like I'm having holiday all the time.
This week is fully off.
But lets go back to last week when my mum was here. We went to Den Haag for the weekend but didn't enjoy it.
So, after a Friday evening in the Hague it was enough (previous post here) and on Saturday we visited Rotterdam.
And no, it was not "rotten".
I really enjoyed Rotterdam! First impression after leaving the train station was: MINI NEW YORK!
The city had a much more modern look than Haarlem and Amsterdam. It was also more of a shopping paradise than any other city in The Netherlands I've visited.
The overall look was just really...pleasant.
After walking around the city center we went down by the sea. We saw a water bus and "mummyyy, pretty pleaaase, let's go on that!"
The waterbus went so fast! It was so so so fun. The weather was so warm that it was lovely and refreshing to just stand outside on the deck and watch the views. Hair in the wind. Haha.
After our bus ride we went for a walk to the old town. The distances in Rotterdam felt so much longer than in Amsterdam. Maybe the main city, without the suburbs, is bigger?
We ended up having dinner at the Finnish Seamen's church. The church was ever so nice. Lovely Finnish people, customer service at its' best, cozy atmosphere and laughs after laughs.
Got to know some Finnish truck drivers who were having a stop in Rotterdam.
Apparently they are allowed to give a ride and pick up hitchhikers! Who knows how I'm going to go back home in July...
Rotterdam is definitely worth a visit!
Maybe I need to give Den Haag a new try, as Johannes really recommended it.
