Wicked!

The last day before it was time for me to go back to work and for my visitors to head back home.

Yet an other chill morning.
Ansku and I met up with Tina, and went for some (more) sushi at my favorite: cheap and tasty Itsu.
We all felt like we could eat everything the restaurant had to offer.
The Itsu on Regent Street is really cosy by the way and has the most loveliest staff!
We spent a good few hours eating, crying and laughing at the previous night out and eating a bit more.

...then the guys and Karen & Vendela joined us.
Itsu serves a very interesting energy drink. See picture above.
I bought one for Ingar, and the whole table had a good laugh as we all sipped to taste the power of 'Pussy - natural energy'.

Our plan for the last evening was of course to go and see a musical. Now I can tick the much hyped witch story off my list, too.

I think the musical was good.
For the first time in like...ever...I was just far too tired to concentrate on anything.
And most of that little energy I had was used to wake up a Mr. Blond guy sitting next to me.

At least the lead actress had a terrific musical voice. The closing song of the first half of the musical gave the wildest shivers.
I should have slept longer that morning! Then maybe I wouldn't have slept through the other wicked scenes the musical surely had.

One hectic 'catching up' week back home in Finland and a party week with friends in London equalled an extremely tired Linda by the end of Tuesday 3rd January. After half a year of mostly work and chilling by myself at home (yes, my life during weekdays hasn't been that much more exciting lately) - these two 'holiday' weeks were a tough bit for me haha!

Via 'the last supper' at an Italian restaurant by Victoria station we separated our ways.
...I must say I got a little lonely and sad on the evening of the 4th as I came home to find an empty house.


Does everything good and great always have to end? (No! So when's the next meet-up?)

Linda 21 years!

On my Birthday I got some more visitors, as my parents came to London.

We went out to eat at Brick Lane. Indian food! Tasty!

We went to a restaurant called Sheba. I had my chicken korma, as usual. I think I had chicken korma three times this week. It's so good! Especially at that restaurant.

Who else isn't a big fan of the moments of awkwardness when the lights go off in the restaurant, everybody is silent, stares at you..and you start to hear movement of someone walking your way after which the whole room of people starts singing happy birthday? Oh my...Such attention feels juuust slightly uncomfortable. But nice. ;-)

I'm craving for that chicken korma at the moment by the way...or the tikka masala.

On Wednesday 19th we

met up with my parents by Big Ben.

Went to Camden.

Bought sliding gloves (!!) from Oddballs, which I haven't yet been able to test out. Hopefully soon!

Had pub fish'n'chips with an old family friend.

And went to see Ghost the musical.

Did I already tell we went to see Legally Blond with Ingar? Well, in my opinion it was nothing compared to my expectations. Probably the worst musical disappointment ever. Boooo.

In my opinion the actors should have been younger - at least from our seats they looked quite old and it felt funny for them to act as college students. Plus the songs weren't too good. Anyway, in general I just think it's not a must see. Wasn't that funny, wasn't that special. Though, opinions vary - the girls sitting behind us probably thought the opposite than us.

After seeing Legally Blond I was truly hoping Ghost wouldn't be as of a bore.

And it wasn't.

Amazing technique, the light effects, visuals, wow wow wow. It was just something I'd never seen before in musicals. Really impressive! The actors were great and sang extremely well. The songs were touchy, the whole atmosphere in the theater was amazing.

At one point we could hear half of the theater crying. I think that was quite impressive. Had to turn my head around to see if it was for real - and it was. The audience was captured into the story and kept hooked till the very end.

I hardly ever go see anything, especially musicals, twice. But now I have a feeling it could be nice to experience Ghost from better seats. It just was pretty damn good!

They are advertising Finland at the tube stations. Like crazy big adverts covering the walls of the tunnels and all. Cool!

Hiding in Hyde Park

Having been in London for only a month, I've already been getting a lot a lot a lot of visitors. So much fun!

I really love socializing, great company and friendly, caring people.

I love fun, I love serious. I looove. People.

Actually, this October will be full of visitors and my calendar is fully booked. Also got some exciting plans for November. Planning must be what I do best.

I wish executing would be, too. ;) Most of the time that party goes pretty well, though.

Inkku came to visit for a few days in September.

During just a couple of days we actually experienced quite a bit of London. But - quite a bit is yet to be seen. Had to leave something to do for future trips, too. ;)

We went through all main sight seeing places, as earlier posted in the TourisTuomo entry. I wonder if I should become a tour guide in London now that I've seen all these places so many times? Hhaa.

What nicest, though, was Hyde Park. An area of London which hadn't been that familiar to me actually. Maybe I spent time there when I was a kid - can't remember. Doubt it, as I think it was Greenwich park we spent most of the park-time.

Hyde Park is chill, pretty and nice. But nothing can win my love-park - Greenwich.

We also visited Harrods. But that was a quick stop, as hunger made us go food hunting.

Btw, I always used to go buy donuts in Harrods but now they've renewed the building and I couldn't do my havetodo Harrods shopping. Not cool! Has the cheap donut company ended their business in Harrods?

(Ok, maybe it was just a normal Krispy Kreme...I don't remember. But that's what I always had, read: only thing I could afford, at Harrods.)

On Wednesday evening, the 21st, we also went to a musical. To see Blood Brothers.

Ingar wanted to go see Legally Blond...but the ticket price was quite high so we ended up seeing BB.

Ok, maybe I was the one wanting to go and see Legally Blond the most - but do believe me when I say that in the end it was Ingar who said 'Hey, should we go check out Legally Blond after all?'

Blood Brothers was nice. And sad. Great singers, great actors. I loved the storyteller. It sounds so amazing when male singers with powerful voices sing in musicals. Ah... <3

I love musicals and I can't remember seeing a single disappointing one in my life. Even Lord Of The Rings was exciting, no matter how uninterested I am about fantasy movies. I've never even seen a LOTR movie!

Next time we're planning to go see Stomp! And I also want to add Legally Blond on the list.

...and I could add Ghost. And Les Miserables. And Priscilla. And what not.

I'm sad I never was able to see Cats. They should definitely do a comeback!

PS: Now I remembered a disappointing musical. Fela! - that was boredom. But that was in New York, so it still keeps the London experiences at a 100% greatness level.

PPS: I hope everyone had an amazing weekend. Mine was! I can't wait to blog about it.
